Remarks: 04/25: Funding still pending. Carbios has secured a EUR 109 million and another EUR 42.5 million funding, but is further waiting on its release. Moreover, Carbios is also negotiating with Indorama Ventures on a EUR 110 million funding. 02/25: Carbios receives funding for its plant in Longlaville. The investment amounts to EUR 42.5 million and is granted by the European Commission. Carbios has also received a EUR 30 million funding under the France 2030 programme. Carbios intends to finalise the financing for the plant by mid-2025. 12/24: French company Carbios has postponed the construction of a chemical recycling plant by 6 to 9 months. 06/24: Tomra Textiles, a subsidiary of Norwegian sorting specialist Tomra, has entered into a textile recycling agreement with French company Carbios. Under the agreement, textile waste in Northern Europe is to be jointly collected, sorted, processed, and recycled. The textiles are to be recycled at Carbios' chemical recycling plant in Longlaville. 05/24: Hündgen will supply 15,000 tpy of PET waste from households starting at the end of 2026. 04/24: Groundbreaking. 02/24: Waste management company Landbell will supply 15,000 tpy of PET flakes from Germany from 2026 on. Belgian construction company De Smet Engineers & Contractors will be responsible for project management as well as detailed engineering, including procurement support. 10/23: Carbios has received a planning permission. 06/23: Carbios will receive grants totaling EUR 54 million to build the plant. The grants were issued by the French Government via the investment program "France 2030" and the Grand-Est Region. The plant should be constructed at Indorama's PET production site. Carbios' enzyme recycling technology will be applied to treat PET waste, for which the investment is estimated to amount to EUR 150 million.
