Remarks: As of 11/2023, Nature Energy and fibre network Andel have inaugurated a power-to-x unit. Excess energy from solar and wind is converted into hydrogen, which is fed into the AD plant. In the AD plant, it combines with CO2 to form e-methane. The plant has a capacity of 12,000 m3 per day, and entailed an investment of EUR 13.4 million. In 08/2021, Nature Energy submitted an application for a building permit to Sønderborg Municipality for an extension of the plant. Plans provide for four new silos to be able to separately store new feedstock, consisting of waste products from food production such as cocoa beans and grain shells. The plant should treat 20,000 tpy of the new feedstock and thus biogas production should be increased.
In 09/2020, the plant has entered its start-up phase and will inject the first produced biogas into the network in mid-September. NGF Nature Energy and BioenergiSyd have announced that the plant will be located near Kværs (former location: Blans). According to NGF (early 2019), the plant capacity is designed for 370,000 tpy and 17.5 million m³.
