Remarks: As of 04/2024, the local City Council has approved plans by biogas plant manufacturer and operator EnviTec Biogas AG to extend its AD plant. Five additional digestate tanks should be installed to increase storage capacity. In 05/2021, EnviTec Biogas AG has acquired the plant from NAWARO BioEnergie AG. EnviTec plans to convert the plant to produce 25 tpd of Bio-LNG to be used as fuel. The input should be reduced to 150,000 tpy of mainly agricultural residues and additional CHP units should be installed to supply 1.5 MWel to the on-site facility. Investment costs for the conversion amounted to EUR 50 million. The plant consists of 20 fermenters.
