Remarks: In 07/2023, the project has been awarded with a grant of AUD 1 million (EUR 612,570) from the Victoria Government's Waste to Energy - Bioenergy Fund. As of 03/2023, Yarra Valley Water has lodged an application with the Environment Protection Authority Victoria for a development licence for its planned AD plant at the Lilydale Sewage Treatment Plant. A public consultation on the proposal is under way. The plant shall treat the food waste in two digesters.
As of 11/2021, bioenergy company Delorean Corporation has been awarded preferred tender status for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the new plant of water services provider Yarra Valley Water. The tender has a total design and construction contract sum of AUD 40 to 50 million (EUR 25.6 to 32 million).
